Much of Lennie Lee's art is time-based. His need for documentation has grown steadily over the years. It is hardly surprising he should turn to photography and video, both as a means of documenting temporary installations, murals and performances but also as a medium of creative expression

His first foray into film and video was in 1988."Ode to the Goddess of the rubbish dump" was a surreal and thinly disguised attack on Thatcher's Britain.

Since 1998 he has worked from time to time with film makers and has recently begun to make video art which he has shown in London, Malmo, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Zurich, Stockholm, St. Petersburg and China
