Lee's interest in photography goes back to a childhood in which he was heavily influenced by his father's enthusiasm for early documentary photographs.
Some of his paintings are based on photographs. He prefers to manipulate photographic images afterwards on a laser copy machine or on computer.
Although he has always worked with photographic images it was not until the late 1990's that he began to use a camera to systematically document life around him.
Apart from producing straight photographs, Lee has also made photo-collages, posters, laser copies and video stills.
