PERFORMANCE

When Lee began painting in 1983 his work was as much concerned with the process of painting as with the product
His early paintings were made publicly with a spray can at parties for his friends
Later, when he moved to East London, he began making temporary installations out of found material in disused buildings. It wasn't long before these became the back-drop for a series of improvised performances
It was not until he was invited to Berlin in 1990 that he began to really explore the idea of Performance Art.
On his return in November 1990 he made a performance with the Arc group.
This led to a series of planned or improvised performances in England, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and Russia over the next ten years.
